Bharti Retail appoints Craig Wimsatt as Chief Operating Officer
New Delhi, August 14, 2014: Bharti Retail today announced the appointment of Craig Wimsatt as Chief Operating Officer with immediate effect. In his new role, Craig will be responsible for Operations, Merchandising including Marketing and Supply Chain & Logistics functions. He will report to Raj Jain, MD & CEO, Bharti Retail.
Commenting on the appointment, Raj Jain said, “The appointment of Craig is in line with our commitment to operate world class stores for our customers. I am confident; Craig’s rich experience across diverse geographies and functions will add immense value to Bharti Retail’s ambitious growth plans.”
Craig brings with him vast experience in Retail of over 30 years, majority of which is with Wal-Mart stores. He has held senior positions in international markets including India where he worked last as COO for Bharti Walmart joint venture.
Bharti Retail currently operates 212 stores neighborhood and compact hypermarket formats across 11 states.
